Australian skipper Steve Smith suffered a massive injury scare on Thursday during their practice in Ranchi ahead of the first T20I against India. Australia will be looking to win the 20I series after demoralizing losses in the ODI series.

Smith sustained a minor shoulder injury during practice at JSCA International Stadium Complex. He was immediately taken to a local private hospital for the check-up, where he also underwent an MRI scan. However, the doctors have declared that Smith is fit to play the first match. However, he was seen clutching his shoulder while fielding during the final ODI in Nagpur as well.

The visitors are ranked seventh in the ICC T20I rankings and it will be the best chance for them to reach the third position by clean sweeping India in their own den. Even if they manage to win the series by 2-1, still they will be able to overthrow the Men in Blue from the fifth rank.

The Australian T20I team looks a lot balanced compared to the ODIs and it is expected that fans might witness a nail-biting contest. While the Indian team will be looking to continue their golden run in order to create their dominance in World Cricket.
