Delhi Capitals once again beat Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets on Friday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sourav Ganguly; who was once associated with Kolkata Knight Riders, including being the captain of the team is now the mentor of the Delhi Capitals. He was seen in Delhi’s dugout and one of the persons who guided Delhi to a comfortable victory from the outside as a mentor. However, Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise took to Twitter and sent a special message for Delhi and Sourav Ganguly; where he wrote, “our Dada was at Eden on the winning side”.

The owner, Shah Rukh Khan, was also disheartened by the loss. But he praised youngster Shubman Gill’s heroic efforts of 65 off 39 balls and Andre Russell’s quickfire 21-ball 45 which helped Kolkata to put up a decent competitive total of 171 after 20 overs.

Delhi Capitals, however, started with a bang. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw got off to a flying start. But Shaw fell for 14 and later captain Shreyas Iyer also got out in quick succession. Dhawan smashed a blistering 97* off 63 balls which included 11 fours and two sixes, while Rishabh Pant scored a quickfire 46 off 31 balls. Later Collin Ingram scored a 6-ball 14 and Delhi got past the line with seven wickets in hand and seven balls to spare.
Kolkata bowlers failed to restrict Delhi after their two early losses which cost them the defeat. Nitish Rana was the most economical bowlers among others. He took a wicket while conceding 12 runs off his two overs. Kuldeep Yadav also gave away 28 runs in his four overs. However, the rest of the bowlers had a bad day in office as their economy was above 8. Lockie Ferguson, Piyush Chawla and Carlos Brathwaite ended up their spells with the economy rates of 12.33, 12.35 and 13.00 respectively.

Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to sort the things as soon as possible and bounce back strongly against the table-toppers Chennai Super Kings at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
