The premier Pakistan batter, Babar Azam failed to perform in Peshawar Zalmi’s match against the Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Babar started his knock with a four while opening the batting, but he couldn’t last long. Babar was dismissed by left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who bowled an absolute jaffa. The southpaw pacer bowled one outside the off-stump and Babar went for a half-hearted drive.
The ball swung back a wee bit and beat Babar Azam all ends up. Babar’s stumps went for a cartwheel and Shaheen raised his hands to celebrate in joy and jubilation. While chasing 242, the Zalmi lost both their openers, Babar and Mohammad Haris, in pretty quick succession with their score at 28 in 2.5 overs.

Shaheen Afridi produced a thunderous outing in the opening overs of the match. Shaheen, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, broke Mohammad Haris’ bat with his first ball of the innings, and then sent the stumps flying on the very next delivery to give the Qalandars a sensational start in the game.

Shaheen made a comeback to cricketing action with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after spending over a couple of months away from the game; his knee injury relapsed during the final of the T20 World Cup in November last year, forcing Shaheen to leave the match mid-way as Pakistan conceded a defeat to England. The left-arm pacer has enjoyed an impressive outing in his comeback in the PSL so far, taking 10 wickets in four matches so far.

Shaheen eventually went on to take a five-wicket haul in the match and thanks to his brilliant figures of 5/40 in four overs, Qalandars restricted Zalmi to 201/9 after posting a mammoth score of 240/3 in 20 overs.
