Legendary Australian spinner, Shane Warne has opened that India and England can be considered as hot favorites to lift the T20 World Cup trophy in 2021. The Men in Blue have started their campaign on a positive note, winning both their warm-up matches in a pretty comprehensive manner. On the other hand, the Brits lost to India in their first practice game but came back to defeat New Zealand.
Virat Kohli and his men will be commencing their campaign in the Super 12s against Pakistan on October 24. The Three Lions will begin their journey on October 23 against the West Indies, under the captaincy of Kieron Pollard.

While Warne considers India and England favorites to lift the trophy, he said that the Aaron Finch-captained Australia shouldn’t be taken lightly by any means. Shane Warne also said that Pakistan and the Caribbean team will be expected to pull off some surprises.
It’s pertinent to note that the West Indies are the defending champions, as they won the last edition of the tournament in 2016 under Daren Sammy’s leadership. He also said not to write off David Warner and Eoin Morgan amidst their poor run of form.

Elaborating the same, Shane Warne took to Twitter and wrote, “I think Eng & India have to go in as fav’s for the T/20 WC. NZ always perform well in events too. But I have a feeling the Aussies are being underestimated as they have a lot of match-winners in their squad. Then you have Pakistan & the Wi. Excited to see who will win.”
