Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar took retirement from international cricket almost 4 years back. However, on Thursday, Indian pacer Shardul Thakur brought back all those memories again.

During his ODI debut, Shardul took the new ball and almost everyone was on the edge of their seats as he donned the Indian jersey written with No. 10 on it. Yes, the same number which Sachin used to wear for many years. People started reacting on various social media platforms immediately started questioning that how did a debutant get that jersey!

After the match, Shardul himself revealed the reason behind the same, he said the total of his birth date is 10 and that is why he chose the number 10 jersey. The fast bowler from Mumbai was born on 16th October 1991. If you add these digits (16+10+1991) the total comes out to be 10. Surprisingly, Shardul also comes from Mumbai and the initials of his name ‘ST’ are same as of Sachin Tendulkar’s.

Some of the reactions on Twitter about Shardul’s jersey no. were harsh but with time we expect him to get used to it as it seems that he’ll have a promising future ahead of him.
