Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. In the first innings, Shashank Singh took an outstanding catch as the ball was hit firmly by Ajinkya Rahane towards deep point, but Shashank stretched his hands and plucked the ball out of thin air.
KKR got off to a good start as they were cruising at 63/1 in seven overs after Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first, with Nitish Rana scoring 25 not out off 16 balls. Ajinkya Rahane was there at the crease, on 27 off 22 balls. The eighth over was bowled by Umran Malik.
The speedster managed to get the wicket of Nitish Rana with the third ball to provide SRH a much-needed breakthrough, and then in the same over, he managed to dismiss Rahane as well. However, Rahane’s wicket largely came owing to the excellent presence of mind by Shashank Singh, who was fielding at a deep point.

Teh ball was pitched short outside off stump delivery from Umran, which Rahane tried to uppercut. The ball seemed like it would clear the boundary before Shashank stretched both his hands to pull off an outstanding catch. With that, KKR was reduced to 72/3 at the end of eight overs.
