The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 match between Barbados Royals, and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots witnessed an epic finish. In the game, Nevis Patriots won the toss and elected to field first. Whereas electing to field first looked like the wrong decision for Patriots but Sheldon Cottrell was the man who took his team home.
Batting first, Barbados Royals managed to post a decent target of an average total of 160 runs in the first inning. Among them, opener J Charles and SK Patel helped the team to cross 100 runs with a significant strike rate. Besides them, captain Holder and GD Phillips reached double-digit scores, on the other hand, the Patriots used six bowlers with Meekeren remains the lead bowler for them as he scalped four wickets with an economy of 9. While remaining four took one wicket each with an average economy.

Meanwhile, Patriots batters started dominating over the Royals since the start of the second inning. Openers Thomas and Lewis were given a good start which helps them to cross-quarter a century earlier. Apart from that, Gayle played a flamboyant knock of 42 runs in 39 balls including three boundaries and two sixes.
Things were going well for the Patriots but middle-order batsmen went back to the pavilion one after the other. Therefore, it put them in a peculiar situation as the score was 98/6 in 15.1 overs. After the dismissal of the skipper Bravo, Sheldon Cottrell and Drakes decided to take the team over the line themselves.
