On Monday, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan uploaded an image with his mother on his social media handles and clarified that she is having a speedy recovery.
Dhawan didn’t play the final ODI against Sri Lanka in order to take care of his ailing mother. However, Team India didn’t feel his absence as they cruised to a six-wicket win and took the series 5-0.
The post of Dhawan on his social media accounts read: “Mom is recovering… Her health is much better than before. Thank you every1 fr your support.”
When Shikhar was brought back into the Indian squad for the first time in ICC Champions Trophy 2017, a lot of questions were raised regarding the decision, but the southpaw replied them all with his bat. He has shown blistering form in the CT 2017 as well as in the subsequent series against West Indies and now Sri Lanka.
