Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan will not be playing the final ODI and one-off T20I to be played between India and Sri Lanka. He will be returning back to India in order to take care of his ailing mother. A replacement for Shikhar is yet to be announced.
Dhawan had a dream tour to Sri Lanka as he scored a total of 190 runs in the ODI series so far, making him the third highest run getter in the series behind team mates Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In the first match, Shikhar scored 132 runs off just 90 balls and led India to victory.

Despite the fact that BCCI is yet to give a final word about the replacement, Ajinkya Rahane will be the most likely contender to replace Dhawan in the batting order. He could open the innings along with Rohit Sharma. A win in the 5h ODI would help India blank Sri Lanka 5-0 in the series.
