The veteran Delhi Capitals (DC) opener, Shikhar Dhawan has continued shattering the records in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. During the match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) as he became the first batsman in the history of the cash-rich league to rack up consecutive hundreds.
Dhawan emerged as only batsman for DC to score runs against KXIP as he scored nearly 65 percent of his teamsβ runs and made sure that the Capitals reached a decent total of 165 for the loss of 5 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Dhawan looked like he continued exactly from where he had left against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), as he racked up a 28-ball half-century.

The southpaw continued the onslaught throughout the 20 overs even as the Capitals batsmen failed to stay in teh middle. Dhawan was particularly ruthless against the spinners as he was consistently landing his slog-sweep perfectly. During his knock of 106* in just 61 balls, Shikhar Dhawan smashed 12 fours and 3 sixes.

During his knock, Dhawan also became the 6th batsman to rack up four consecutive 50+ scores. He also went on to join the elite list of cricketers, who have scored more than 5000 runs in the IPL history, joining the likes of Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and David Warner.
The moment that Dhawan and his millions of fans finally came in the 19th over when he racked up his second consecutive 100 with a double against Arshdeep Singh.

Shikhar Dhawan also joined the likes of Virat Kohli (4 for RCB in 2016), Chris Gayle (2 for RCB in 2011), Hashim Amla (2 for KXIP in 2017), and Shane Watson (2 for CSK in 2018) to score more than one century in a single season.
