Recently, the Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was asked about the newly father Rohit Sharma and he had a hilarious reply.

The 33-year-old left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan and 31-year-old right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma are now a long time opening partners for the Indian cricket team in limited-overs cricket. Recently, in last December, Rohit became the father for the first time after he was blessed with a girl.

To see his new-born daughter, Sharma left the ongoing Australia tour when the four-match Test series was running. After the end of the third Test of that series, Sharma returned to India and made himself unavailable for the final Test of the series.

Later, he has joined with the national team to play in the three-match ODI series in the ongoing Australia tour and already has scored a century in the ongoing ODI series.

Prior to the third and final ODI of the series at Melbourne Cricket Ground (Melbourne), Dhawan faced the pre-match press-conference where he was asked for his view on the newly father Rohit Sharma.

Hearing that question, Dhawan had the huge laugh at first and then he said, “Rohit ka kya hai? Acha baap ban chuka hai. Batting ka baap ya waise baap? Pehle toh Rohit ke liye bahut khush hoon ki wo baap ban gaya hai, uske liye aur uski wife ke liye. Of course, wo badaa khush hai. I’m sure he’ll be a great father. (Has Rohit become the father of batting or in his personal life? I am very happy for him and his wife for becoming parents. He is himself very happy. I’m sure he’ll be a great father).”

Dhawan and Rohit started as the opening partner since the beginning of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. In the international cricket, they have opened for the Indian cricket team in 133 innings before the Melbourne ODI where they have provided more than 5,000 runs partnership for the opening wicket.
