The Indian Premier League 2017 happens to be the tenth edition of the league since its inception in 2008. Popularly knows as the IPL, the league has struck a chord with fans across the globe and has grown up to become, by a distance, the biggest league in the World in every single department. Every year, there have been opening ceremonies that have been as spectacular as the league and 2017 will be no different, with Bollywood stars gracing the occasion with their block-buster performances. Being the tenth anniversary of the league, the BCCI has also decided to felicitate the fab 5 of the era gone by. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag will be felicitated in Hyderabad on April 5. Fab 5 represented the golden era of Indian Batting that commenced in the mid 90s and went through the first decade of the new millennium. What’s more, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s women too will receive their one-time ex-gratia payment cheques at respective venues.

Eight different ceremonies will be held at eight venues with the new IPL anthem “Yeh Dus Saal Aapke Naam” to be launched in Hyderabad. Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff, the Baaghi co-stars, will kick-off two of the eight ceremonies to be held, even as the IPL travels to as many Cities during its commencement from 5th April to its conclusion on the 21st May. One of the play-off games will be held in Mumbai. Last year, Mumbai was slated to host a play-off but it had to be shifted out at the eleventh hour because of the severity of droughts in Maharashtra.

While Tiger Shroff is slated to perform on his chartbusters as well as hits from mentor Hrithik Roshan’s films, including “Dhoom Machale”, in a power-packed performance, Shraddha Kapoor will perform on her own chartbusters. Tiger, accompanied by his mother Ayesha, will kick-off proceedings at Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium for a match between the Kings XI Punjab and the Royal Challengers Bangalore while Shraddha Kapoor will give the match in Kolkata a befitting start with her stupendous performances. Both actors will soon start rehearsing their performances.

Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will play Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening game in Hyderabad on April 5. The final match of the 10th edition, slated for May 21, will also take place at the Hyderabad venue. For the galas in the Nizam’s City, the organisers plan to rope in five celebrities but haven’t decided on the final list yet.
