Shreyas had been sidelined due to a back injury sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in March 2023. This injury forced him to miss both the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League and the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia.

The 28-year-old took to his official Instagram account to share a photo with NCA physio Nitin Patel and trainer Rajinikant, expressing his gratitude for their assistance in his recovery process.
