Kagiso Rabada did a splendid job in the super over where he restricted KKR and helped Delhi to claim a convincing victory. Delhi Capitals scored 10 runs in the super over which was bowled by Prasidh Krishna after the game ended in the tie. For KKR the in-form Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik faced the super over. After the end of the over, Rabada was all praised by his teammates as he bowled six yorkers to restrict KKR. He was certainly in pressure when Russell hit the first ball for a boundary but later bounced back and dismissed him in the third ball.

However, he bowled in a pretty good line that while 7 runs were required in the 3 balls, Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa could manage only three singles on as many yorkers. Meanwhile, Rabada helped DC to defend the lowest total in a Super Over in the history of IPL. Delhi Capitals won the match by 3 runs after playing the super over.

While talking about this, Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer said, “Kagiso and I had a chat before the super over and he told me that he would go for yorkers all through, first, second, third, every ball. It takes some special skill to execute that.”

Iyer further added, “definitely a long day at the office. We didn’t expect it to go that deep, expected us to finish it with an over to spare. Credit must go to Kuldeep Yadav for that over (last over).”

Shreyas Iyer further said that it is tough to restrict Russell when he is in form. Russell came in to bat when Knight Riders were reduced to 61 for 5. However, he hit every bowler, smashing 62 off just 28 to guide KKR to 185 for 8.

“You can’t control Andre Russell when he gets going. Even his mistimes go for sixes and even the bowlers find it tough to plan against him when things just don’t go to plan,” Iyer said.
