Gill reached the milestone in style against Alzarri Joseph, flicking a full delivery towards the leg side. The ball raced through the deep as Gill found the boundary to complete his second consecutive ODI century at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

The century also continued Gill’s remarkable run of form in the ongoing series. After scoring a crucial hundred in the first ODI, the right-hander once again took responsibility at the top of the order and kept India’s chase alive against a West Indies side that had posted a record-breaking total.

After reaching three figures, Gill removed his helmet, raised his bat and soaked in the loud applause from the Guwahati crowd. His innings has come at a critical stage for India, who need a strong start to chase down the imposing 405/7 posted by West Indies.
