During the last T20I between South Africa and India at the SuperSport Park (Centurion), Indian wicket-keeper and former World T20 & World Cup winning skipper MS Dhoni slammed a great half-century as he was unbeaten on 52 runs off just 28 balls. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly praised MS Dhoni for showcasing the brilliant batting.
India was struggling on 90/4 (10.4 overs) in the 2nd T20I when Dhoni came to bat. While the other set batsman Manish Pandey was playing comfortably, Dhoni took his time to settle down on the pitch. Once he settled down on the pitch, Dhoni went to dominant over the bowler. In the last two overs pf that innings, Dhoni bashed the bowlers all over the place.

Dhoni completed his half-century in just 27 balls, which is the joint fastest T20I half-century by an Indian batsman against South Africa. At the end of the innings, Dhoni remained not out on 52 runs off 28 balls.
With the help of Dhoni and Manish Pandey’s (79* runs off 48 balls) brilliant unbeaten knocks, India managed to put 188/4 on the board at the end of 20 overs.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly praised Dhoni’s knock by quoting to India Today in an interview, “MS Dhoni was brilliant and batted superbly. I have always said he needs deliveries under his belt to play well and once again he showed it. Hopefully, he will get a few more deliveries and he will be very, very dangerous.”
However, unfortunately, that brilliant knock went in vain as South Africa won that match by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare. With that victory, the series is now 1-1 level while the third and last match of the series will be played on Saturday at Newlands (Cape Town).
Ganguly also thinks that Indian team is capable to win the T20I series by winning the Cape Town encounter.
