Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has finally commented on the recent coronavirus cases emerged in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. 13 members of CSK franchise reported to have tested positive of the novel coronavirus, including fast bowler Deepak Chahar and batsman Rituraj Gaikwad.
Everybody in the CSK camp had had cmae out negative for the virus in India and even after their arrival in Dubai. It was only in the third test that 13 members tested positive. Notably, only the Chennai-based fracnhise organised a training camp in India before leaving for the United Arab Emirates (CSK) earlier this month.

The players, support staff and franchise officials completed their mandatory 7-day quarantine in their hotel rooms in Dubai but even then some members contracted the novel virus. Reacting to the news, Ganguly said that he hopes the three-time champions will be able to commence their outdoor training on time after being ordered to undergo slef-isolation for 7 more days.
As per the quotes in Times of India, Ganguly said, “I cannot comment on the situation of CSK. We will see if they can start as per schedule. I hope the IPL will be conducted well. We have a long schedule for the tournament and I sincerely hope everything will go on just fine.”
All other teams have already started their outdoor training camps hile staying inside the bio-secure bubble. But CSK can only start their training from September 5 after being hit by coronavirus in their camp. Things went from bad to worse for the CSK on Saturday when their deputy skipper, Suresh Raina decided to return home due to personal reasons. He is the second-highest run-scorer in the IPL and now he will be missing the entire 2020 season.

According to the reports of India Today, a 58-year-old man said to be a relative of the veteran cricketer Suresh Raina died while four members of his family sustained injuries as robbers attacked their family, police said on Saturday.
