After the three-match T20I series, both Australia and India are focusing for the upcoming Test series. It will be a fight between the no.1 ranked Test team India, who are currently in a great form and the no.5 ranked Test team Australia, who are currently struggling in international cricket. However, on the other side, India has a poor record in Australia while the Australian cricket team is always known as a strong team in their home venues.

While the Test series is going to begin on December 6, Waugh feels that the series will be a significant opportunity for the Indian cricket team as they have prepared for it for a long time.

The former Aussie captain told ESPNcricinfo, “I will see this as a significant chance and they would have prepared for this tour for a long time, I think it’s going to be a really close series.”

Waugh praised the Indian skipper and the top-ranked Test and ODI batsman Virat Kohli and compared him with the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Caribbean cricketer Brian Lara.

Talking about Kohli, Waugh said, “He is a great player and loves the big moment, a bit like Tendulkar and Lara. They wait for these big series and that’s where they want to show their best. So who is the dangerman for Australia? They have got some really good batsmen, they have got a very good all-round team.”
