After a poor show in England, Team India had to lock horns with the Windies in their own backyard. While the overseas record of India has not been great, Virat Kohli and his men have been known to be a formidable side at home. They are yet to lose a series at home in the last three years as they have crossed all hurdles that have come their way. The Windies had a big task at hand as no one gave them a chance of pulling up an upset against the Indians.
The Windies were thoroughly outplayed in the Tes series, but in the ODI series, they have shown a lot of intent at least in the first two games so far. However, they have fallen short of victory courtesy to Virat Kohli’s unbelievable form. He seems to be having centuries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the first ODI at Guwahati Kohli scored 140 runs and was instrumental in India’s eight-wicket victory.
Continuing his golden run, Virat went on to score an impressive 157* in the second ODI to bag the second Man of the Match award in as many games. In this process, Kohli surpassed 10,000 ODI runs for India becoming the fastest batsman ever to do so. While the best of bowlers are falling short of ideas to dismiss Kohli, Windies coach Stuart Law has said that his team has a plan in place.

As quoted in Times Now, Stuart said, “How do you get Virat out? He gave us chance at 40. He is a wonderful player. I just love the way he goes about compiling an innings. Looks like he is working very hard but he’s doing it very easy. So we do have plans to him.”
The run machine was dropped by his West Indian counterpart Jason Holder when he was on 40 that costed the visitors dearly. The story of the match could have been different had Holder held on to the catch.
Talking about the same, Law said, “At the moment, he is coming up a lot of good answers, so we have to just keep asking questions about his technique and his abilities. In the end, he is only human. But when we get an opportunity, we have got to grab hold of it.”
The third ODI is set to be played on Saturday in Pune. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah’s return, India’s will be looking to spoil the Windies party once again.
