Mumbai Indians opening batsman Suryakumar Yadav is spending time with his family as the whole of India is under lockdown. The Indian government has decided to take this drastic step for the safety of the citizens and contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The coronavirus pandemic leads to sporting events being canceled or postponed. The cash-rich star-studded Indian Premier League which was scheduled to begin from March 29 which has now be rescheduled to begin from April 15 onwards.
The Mumbai Indians cricketer recently took to twitter and shared a post that said, “Mentally at Wankhede stadium but physically at home. This too shall pass. #stayhome #staysafe”.

Suryakumar Yadav is currently playing IPL for his home town based franchise the Mumbai Indians. The Chembur lad made his first start in the blue and gold jersey way back in 2012. However, Surya got his much-deserved breakthrough in 2014 when he played 16 games for the Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders. The player scored 164 runs with an amazing strike rate exceeding 140. It was the same year in which the Gautam Gambhir helped the Kolkata based team lift their second IPL title.

The right-handed batsman was named the captain of the Mumbai Ranji trophy team for the 2019-20 season where he helped himself to a century against Saurashtra, However, Mumbai team fell short as Surya’s knock could not help the Mumbai team as the match ended in a draw that helped the Saurashtra enter the finals. Later on, the Jaydev Unadkat led Saurashtra team went on to defeat Bengal in the finals claiming their first-ever Ranji Trophy title
Suryakumar Yadav rejoined his hometown franchise in 2018 for 3.2 crores. The player had a great run in an overall average team performance as he scored 500+ runs in the group stages for Mumbai Indians. Last year, Surya hit 424 runs with a strike rate of 133.33.
