Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) tightened their grip on the game as young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma spun a web around the Punjab Kings (PBKS) middle order during Match 37 of IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. In a decisive moment of the innings, Suyash delivered a flat and skiddy leg-break at 103 kph to outfox Australian batter Josh Inglis.

Looking to go over extra cover, Inglis backed away and went hard at the ball, but Suyash’s pace and subtle turn proved too good. The delivery zipped in just enough to beat the bat and rattle the off-stump. Inglis, who had looked promising with 29 runs off 17 balls (including two boundaries and a six), had to walk back, leaving PBKS at 112/5 and staring at a collapse.

The drama didn’t stop there. Just a few balls later in the same over, Sharma struck again, this time getting the better of Marcus Stoinis with a beautiful googly. Stoinis, expecting the conventional leg-spinner, stepped down the track but was left bamboozled as the ball sneaked between bat and pad to crash into the stumps. The Aussie all-rounder departed for just 1 off 2 balls, deepening PBKS’s woes.

Earlier, Punjab Kings had already endured a comedy of errors with a disastrous run-out between Josh Inglis and Nehal Wadhera, set up by a sharp fielding effort from Virat Kohli and Tim David. Wadhera’s dismissal for 5, combined with Iyer’s early fall for 6, exposed the middle order, leaving PBKS vulnerable.
