Swastik Chikara may still be waiting for his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut, but he has already become a talking point this season — not for his batting, but for his open admiration for Royal Challengers Bengaluru superstar Virat Kohli. Chikara’s love for Kohli is no secret. In a recent light-hearted revelation, the young batter shared that he once sneaked into Kohli’s kit bag and used his perfume without permission.

As if that wasn’t enough, Chikara even joked about demanding watches from Kohli as birthday gifts. On the field, too, Chikara is often seen eagerly serving drinks to Kohli, seizing every opportunity to be near his idol, much to the delight of fans on social media.
The story took another amusing turn when the RCB squad landed in Delhi ahead of their clash against Delhi Capitals. A meme went viral teasing Chikara’s devotion to Kohli, with a teammate humorously pointing out that Chikara’s biggest “tension” was ensuring he was the first to serve water to the batting legend, as Yash Dayal managed mike duties.

Chikara, however, responded to the gentle ribbing with endearing humility, saying with a wide smile, “Toh kya ho gaya? Apne bhai ko toh main hi pilaaunga! (So what? I will serve water to my brother!)” The heartfelt reaction only deepened fans’ affection for the youngster, portraying him as a sincere admirer rather than just another rookie trying to grab attention.

At 19, Swastik Chikara is making a name for himself with his fearless batting style. The Ghaziabad-born right-hander lit up the UP T20 League last year with a blistering 85 off 27 balls and marked his List A debut with a century against Himachal Pradesh. His quickfire 74 in his Ranji Trophy debut against Bengal and appearances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy have further underlined his potential.
