England scored 188/5 in 20 overs, where Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali were the chief contributors with both scoring in the 40s.

In response, India were taken off to a flyer by KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan. Both batsmen were hitting boundaries for fun and looted 59 runs within the powerplay. KL Rahul in particular was looking more threatening and scored freely against every England bowler.

He scored his fifty in 23 balls and got out on the next ball by Mark Wood.

Earlier, England tried to go berserk from the word go but Mohammed Shami jolted them early by dismissing Jos Buttler and Jason Roy inside the powerplay. Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone then stabilized England’s innings before the latter got out to Shami, who bagged three wickets for 40 runs in his four overs.
