India and New Zealand are locking horns in a Super 12 round match of the T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai. Both teams lost their first game against Pakistan and are now playing in a must-win match.
Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bowl first. New Zealand brought Adam Milne in the playing XI and left Tim Seifert out for this game. On the other hand, India left Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar out while Ishan Kishan and Shardul Thakur replaced them in the playing XI.

Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul came out to bat while Trent Boult had the new ball in his hand to trouble the Indian openers like Shaheen Shah Afridi did the other night. Both openers played out Boult’s first over without taking any risk. However, Ishan Kishan went for a full-blooded heave on the second last ball of Boult’s second over and ended up giving a catch to Daryl Mitchell.
Rohit Sharma walked out at number 3 and played some shots before getting out to Ishan Sodhi. Tim Southee removed KL Rahul as India were in deep trouble. Virat Kohli went for a slog-sweep against Sodhi and hold out at long-on and India were reeling at 48/4.
Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant were battling in the middle to save India’s blushes but ended up being too defensive and couldn’t score a single boundary. Adam Milne disturbed Rishabh Pant’s stumps when he was going for a slog. Hardik Pandya got out to Boult for a 24-ball 23-run knock.
Ravindra Jadeja tried hard to towards the end but things had slipped too far by then. He scored 26 runs in 19 balls, which featured two fours and one sixes. India ended up scoring 110/7 in 20 overs.
Boult picked three wickets for 20 runs while Ish Sodhi grabbed two wickets for 17 runs. Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner conceded just 15 runs in his four overs.

In response, Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell took cautious steps towards the target. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Guptill for 20 in the fourth over. Kane Williamson walked out at number 3 and stitched a solid partnership with Daryl Mitchell, who was looking in the mood to finish the game early. He got out to Bumrah after scoring 49 runs but by then he had put New Zealand in an undefeatable position.
Kane Williamson kept his cool and took his team over the line with his unbeaten knock of 33 runs. New Zealand won the game by eight wickets with 33 balls to spare.

Anyone who goes against Diwali and its traditions will meet @imVkohli fate and will take India down with it. Sack him as captain from all formats. @BCCI should also be blamed for giving him too much of a long rope.

I'll say it again. You just have to admire the way #KaneWilliamson and @BLACKCAPS play cricket.

Disappointing batting to say the least. #INDvsNZ

Fear of Failure writ large within the Indian camp. You can’t be this bad #IndvsNZ

Horrid batting performance by #India, far worse than against Pakistan when the match was lost by 10 wickets. Whatever the nature of the pitch, this score just too neagre. New Zealand have to bat diabolically badly to lose this

This is easily India’s worst performance in a T20 World Cup. In fact, they never even get started. But two T20 games don’t define a team.

India, unfortunately, always were chasing the wrong template in T20s, treating the format merely an extension of ODIs. Winning bilateral series held for nothing but personal milestones. Ind would need to rebuild; and rebuild thinking about the format and not go by names #IndvsNZ

Look forward to seeing more cricket between evenly-matched sides when India meet Scotland and Namibia later in the Super 12s

This defeat should hurt Team India. Tentative with the bat, their shot selection was questionable. New Zealand bowled superbly, but India made their task easier. With their net run rate also taking a beating, a semifinal spot looks a distant dream #INDvNZ #T20WorldCup

India still have an outside chance of qualifying for semis but with how they have played their two big games in the event, it will be nothing but a miracle to see them qualify. @T20WorldCup

Virat Kohli is facing criticism but it’s the entire team and the coaches that have failed and not just one man.
It turned out to be a scary Halloween for Indian fans. #INDvsNZ #T20WORLDCUP— Mohammed Azharuddin (@azharflicks) October 31, 2021
Very good performance by @BLACKCAPS and important win #T20WorldCup For India .. one of their many stars has to fire and inspire.. no 2 words about it

Very disappointing from India. NZ were amazing. India’s body language wasn’t great, poor shot selection & like few times in the past, New Zealand have virtually ensured we won’t make it to the next stage. This one will hurt India & time for some serious introspection #IndvsNZ
