Former Indian cricketer Dilip Doshi has lashed out at India’s under-performing players, saying there are playing on their past reputation. India lost their opening match against Pakistan by 10 wickets and looked out of sorts in every aspect of the game.
While India’s batting order failed to click against Pakistan’s potent bowling lineup, India’s bowlers also failed to put Pakistan’s batting under pressure. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan chased down the target with unbeaten fifties.

Dilip Doshi targets at Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya for not performing. He also believes these players are playing only because of their past reputation.
“It’s true that some people are playing based on their past reputation. Players like Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar haven’t performed to their full potential for some time now. (Ravichandran) Ashwin should play every game because he’s the world’s best spinner at present. You cannot afford to drop him,” said Doshi in an interview with Sportskeeda.
He, then, suggested the changes Team India can make going forward in the T20 World Cup 2021.

“Hardik Pandya has outstanding potential and needs to focus on his ability to perform with consistency. By bowling in the 130 km speed zone, Bhuvi is unable to put pressure. Shardul should definitely play because he has been in good touch of late and is an outstanding cricketer,” he added.
“Deepak Chahar, too, deserved a place in the squad. I also feel Jadeja’s bowling has gone down over the past few years. He is an outstanding cricketer but needs to reflect and improve his bowling to play to his full potential.”
India will play against New Zealand on October 31 in Dubai. This game is a must-win prospect for both teams as they lost their opening matches against Pakistan.
