Three years after shattering Australia’s fortress at the Gabba, Team India has returned to Brisbane for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The five-match series, currently tied at 1-1, has set the stage for an intense third Test beginning Saturday, December 14. Rohit Sharma and his squad arrived in Brisbane on Wednesday, eager to reclaim momentum after their crushing 10-wicket defeat in Adelaide.
Broadcaster Star Sports shared a video on X (formerly Twitter), capturing Team India’s arrival at Brisbane airport, radiating confidence despite their recent setback. Determined to bounce back, the squad had remained in Adelaide for intensive red-ball practice sessions. These drills aimed to address weaknesses and fine-tune their strategies for the high-stakes Gabba clash.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who returned to the team following the birth of his son, is keen to regain his batting form. Struggling this season with a mere 142 runs across 12 innings, Rohit moved to No. 6 in the batting order but managed only three and six runs in Adelaide. His dismissals—an LBW to a fuller delivery in the first innings and bowled by Pat Cummins in the second—highlighted technical gaps he aims to rectify.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who had ended his prolonged century drought with a sublime hundred in Perth, faltered in Adelaide. He fell twice to deliveries outside off-stump, edging once to second slip and then to the wicketkeeper. At the nets, Kohli approached his session with initial caution but gradually rediscovered his rhythm.
