The recently concluded Nidahas Trophy 2018, played to celebrate the occasion of 70th Independence year for Sri Lanka, produced some very scintillating matches. In Fact, it turned out to be one of the most interesting T20I series played in recent times with three of out seven matches being thrillers.
The Indians went into the tournament without some of their senior players. The Sri Lankans playing at home had a point to prove with a fresh-look team whereas Bangladesh wanted a multi-nation Trophy for themselves.

#1 – Shikhar Dhawan
The left-handed opener found his mojo and top-scored for India in the tournament. He scored 198 runs in the series with two half-centuries and a total of 10 sixes.
#2 – Tamim Iqbal
The highest run-getter for Bangladesh in T20Is proved his worth with the consistent good starts. He averaged 30 in the series at the top with two 40-plus scores.
#3 – Kusal Perera
Without a doubt, the most positive development for Sri Lanka in the tournament. He is the highest run-scorer in the series with 204 runs in four innings with an excellent strike-rate of 158.13. He went past the 50-run mark three times out of four tries.
#4 – Rohit Sharma (C)
After scoring only 28 runs in the first three matches, Rohit Sharma stepped up to the plate with the scores of 89(61) and 56(42) when it mattered the most. The aggressive brand of captaincy makes him the captain of this side as well.
#5 – Mushfiqur Rahim
The Bangladeshi Captain played a stunning knock of 72*(35) against Sri Lanka to clinch an impossible chase. He is the second highest scorer in the series with 199 runs at an average of 66.33
#6 – Dinesh Karthik (WK)
The knock of 29 runs in 8 balls is enough to propel Dinesh Karthik in the team. He remained not out throughout the series, scoring 85 runs in 43 balls faced.
#7 – Thisara Perera
The mercurial all-rounder played crucial knocks for Sri Lanka when needed the most. His 58(37) against Bangladesh came when the side was struggling at 41/5. He bowled ten overs in support also.
#8 – Washington Sundar
The greatest gain for India in the series is definitely Washington Sundar. Despite bowling the most of his overs in the powerplay, his most expensive spell was 28 runs in four overs. His tally of 8 wickets in the series is the joint highest with a lowly economy of 5.7
#9 – Yuzvendra Chahal
The joint highest wicket-taker of the series, Chahal picked up 8 wickets in the tournament. His best spell came in the final when he took 3/18 against Bangladesh.
#10 – Rubel Hossain
The Bangladeshi bowler got hit for 23 runs in the penultimate overs of the final by Dinesh Karthik spoiling his figures of 2/13 in the first three overs. Rubel took 7 wickets in the series.
#11 – Mustafizur Rehman
One of the best bowlers in T20Is struggled in the first four matches of the series but he redeemed himself with the one wicket-maiden that he bowled in the final. Vijay Shankar failed to get bat on the ball in the crunch situation. Rehman also took 7 wickets in the series.
