The Indian cricket fans witnessed a huge setback on Thursday when some of the reports suggested that Jasprit Bumrah will miss T20 World Cup 2022 due to a back injury. The India pace spearhead has been ruled out of the ongoing three-match T20I series against South Africa due to a stress fracture. There are also reports suggesting that the right-arm fast bowler is set to miss the upcoming T20 World Cup too.

With the marquee event less than one month away, the latest reports have come as a huge blow to Team India’s preparations. Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best if not the best T20 bowler in the world and missing him would be a huge blow for the Men in Blue.  India is already without one of their star all-rounders – Ravindra Jadeja – for the tournament and another injury setback could very well derail the team’s campaign.

As the Indian cricket fraternity eagerly awaits a positive update on Jasprit Bumrah from the BCCI, senior cricket journalist K Shriniwas Rao has tweeted that fans should not worry about Bumrah missing the event.

The journalist also provided a positive update on the bowler, writing: “Was travelling last couple of days so missed out on quite a bit… So, all those worried about the possibility of Jasprit Bumrah missing the World Cup… please don’t be. He is in very good hands & the word coming out right now is extremely positive — he may fly. Fingers crossed.”
