In recent times, Team India has been a team to beat in the longest format. When it comes to playing at home, the Indian team has been invincible winning 11 consecutive series. On Tuesday, they successfully whitewashed on South Africa for the first time in history. But despite this blockbuster show in the middle, the crowd hasn’t been coming into the stadium to watch their heroes play.
Very few fans witnessed the live-action during the three-match Test matches in the series against South Africa. The worst situation was experienced in Ranchi when not many showed interest in the series already been decided. The concerns increase with Bangladesh also set to tour for the two-match Test series next month. Indore and Kolkata will host those two Test matches.
However, to address the crowd concerns, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is taking the right steps forward. They have decided to reduce the ticket prices considerably for the second Test match to be played at the Eden Gardens.

The decision to cut down the ticket prices was taken at the apex council meeting and the secretary Acishek Dalmiya has confirmed the news as well. The ticket prices have been brought down from 200,150 and 100 to 150, 100 and 50. He also clarified that they want to attract the crowd for the Test matches and hence have taken this decision. As per the quotes in Times of India, Dalmiya said, “We want more people to come in. That’s why this move.”
As far as the Bangladesh tour is concerned, the visitors will be playing three T20Is followed by a two-match Test series. The tussle in the shortest format begins on November 3 with the three matches to be played in Delhi, Nagpur, and Rajkot respectively. However, as of now, the tour is under the cloud with the Bangladesh players going on strike.

On Monday, the BCCI also released the statement that they are having a keen eye on the developments in Bangladesh regarding the issue.
