One ugly verbal fight incident during the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh game

It was the final league-stage game of 2018 Nidahas Trophy (T20I tri-series between the hosts Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh) between the hosts Sri Lanka and the visitors Bangladesh at Colombo (RPS) on March 16, 2018, which was a virtual semi-final as the winner of the match would reach the final of the tournament.

That chaos incident happened during the final over of the game when Bangladesh needed to score 12 runs in the final over. During the second ball of that over, Bangladesh team was demanding for a no-ball due to the second bouncer in that over but the umpires dismissed that.

Soon, Bangladesh T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan came to the edge of the boundary and called the on-field Bangladeshi batsmen to out of the field of play. It took time to sort out as Bangladesh team finally continued the game while Shakib returned to the dressing room.

In a few minutes, Bangladesh snatched a thrilling victory but the heat moments were not ended as some of the cricketers from both sides had some ugly verbal fights after the end of the match. Later on, window glass of Bangladesh dressing room was found broken.

Later, Shakib apologised for his reaction who received one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct and also had 25% match fees fine. Another Bangladesh player Nurul Hasan also received the same punishment who was a substitute player and majorly involved in the on-field attacking verbal fights, including pointing his finger to the opposition captain.
