The Australian batter, Travis Head suffered a huge blow in his head at Gabba after scoring a ferocious century against England. Currently, the Aussies are hosting Australia is currently taking on England in the opening Test of the Ashes series 2021-22 at The Gabba in Brisbane. On Day1, the English skipper, Joe Root won the toss and opted to bat first.
The visitors tried every possible trick to save themselves from embarrassment, but the Australian bowlers were too hot to handle for them. Even as the game was played for 50.1 overs, it was more than enough for the host to bundle out England’s batting unit. Australian captain Pat Cummins registered his 6th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. In reply, Australia found support in the form of Travis Head, David Warner, and Marnus Labuschagne. Travis Head received immense praise from the cricketing pundits from scoring his third century. He brought up his milestone off just 85 balls.

Right in the next over after completing his century, Travis Head was taken aback by Mark Wood’s beamer. In the process, Travis Head was hit on the glove by Mark Wood’s beamer clocked at 138.6kmph. The batsman took a hit at his chin and jaw.

Soon after the incident, Mark Wood went up and apologized to the Australian batter who fell down. Luckily, the batsman escaped with a massive injury scare. The southpaw proceeded to bat after taking some quick treatment from the physios. He remained not out on 112 off 95 balls (12 fours, 2 sixes) at the end of Day 2. Earlier, Warner scored 94 (11 fours, 2 sixes) while Labuschagne scored 74 (6 fours, 2 sixes). Meanwhile, Australia ended Day 2 with 343/7 and they lead by 196 runs.
