India finished the six-match bilateral ODI series against the hosts South Africa by thrashing them in the final ODI at SuperSport Park, Centurion on Friday. With this victory, India clinched the ODI series by the impressive 1-5 margin. It is one of the memorable bilateral series victories in the Indian cricket history.
India decided to field first after winning the toss. New Indian pacer Shardul Thakur provided a great start for his team and the hosts failed to come out from that.
Like the previous ODIs in this series, Indian spinners again created a lot of problems for the hosts’ batsmen.
With the help of bowlers combined efforts, South Africa was bundled out for just 204 runs in 46.5 overs. Thakur was the best bowler for his team as his bowling figure was 8.5-0-52-4.
In reply, Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored another ODI century which ruled out any further fight-back chance from the hosts’ side. Kohli scored his 35th ODI century as he remained unbeaten on 129 runs off just 96 balls. India won this match by 8 wickets as they reached the target (206/2) in 32.1 overs after losing only two wickets.
