It was the veteran Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin bowling to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Jos Buttler once again at the Indian Premier League (IPL) and once again it was the ace Indian off-spinner who got the better of his counterpart. And, no he did not run him out at the non-striker’s end this time around and it was a too short a contest as Buttler lasted two balls that he faced off the spinner and got dismissed on the striker’s end. Jos Buttler lost another battle to R Ashwin but no it was at the striker’s end

Defending 185, Shreyas Iyer once again decided to hand the ball to Ashwin in the powerplay and it took the off-spinner just three balls to strike. Jos Buttler, who was looking in great touch, in an attempt to smash the ball hard on the on-side, only managed to get an under-edge as Shikhar Dhawan claimed a blinder of a catch at deep square-leg.

Buttler’s dismissal brought Steven Smith to the crease. After enduring three consecutive failures, Smith was looking well to go big to finally break the rut during his 17-ball 24 before he was eventually dismissed by Anrich Nortje owing to a brilliant catch by Shimron Hetmyer at the mid-wicket-boundary.

Earlier, a belligerent knock from Shimron Hetmyer and a brief cameo from Axar Patel, in the end, helped Delhi Capitals to reach a decent score of 184/8 in 20 overs after reeling at 5-113.  Meanwhile, RR never managed to get in the game during the chase as they had lost two wickets in the powerplay itself and suffered a loss by 46 runs and it was their first loss in Sharjah
