The Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years has had moments that leave the fans and the cricketing fraternity in absolute awe. Another such moment will go down in the history of the IPL when Punjab Kings batter Liam Livingstone smashed a huge six against fast-bowling sensation Umran Malik and it has been the third time in the time when he has smashed a six in excess of 100 meters.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are locking horns with each other in the 28th match of IPL 2022. SRH’s Kane Kane Williamson won the toss and asked Punjab Kings to bat first who were without their regular skipper Mayank Agarwal who injured his toe on the eve of the game.

Shikhar Dhawan was appointed the skipper for the match and he failed to do much with the bat for his team as PBKS was asked to bat first. The Punjab team kept losing wickets at regular intervals on a pitch that looked on the slower side. Liam Livingstone walked out to bat at number 4 when the PBKS were reeling at 33/2.

The English batter looked in good touch as he started finding the gaps and he was able to time the ball pretty well. The English batter who is known for hitting huge sixes smashed Umran Malik for a huge one which covered a distance of more than 100 meters.

The incident took place on the third ball of the 12th over when Umran Malik who was bowling at a searing pace bowled a short pitch which sat up nicely for Liam Livingstone as he rocked back and hit a monstrous six over mid-wicket which turned out to be 106 meters long. On the next ball, Umran Malik bowled a bouncer to Liam Livingstone. It was a surprise delivery by Malik as Livingstone was blown away and beaten by the pace of the ball.

The Umpire raised a finger signaling 1st shoulder warning. The English batter looked stunned as the umpire did not signal wide and He made it clear with his gestures. Livingstone had a brief chat with both the umpires as an animated chat took place.
