Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are locking horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 20th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. R Ashwin has often made headlines for his stance either in favor or perhaps against the MCC rulebooks. The 35-year-old player did another tactical move against LSG for his side RR when he was ‘retired out’ (not retired hurt) for 23-ball 28.

R Ashwin and Shimron Hetmyer made a crucial partnership

Earlier in the game, KL Rahul won the toss and invited RR to bat first. Despite having a decent start, the Royals were reeling at 67/4. However, Shimron Hetnyer did the rebuilding job for the team alongside R Ashwin as they made a brilliant partnership of 68 runs, and surprisingly, the latter was retired out in the 19th over. Eventually, RR reached a respectable total of 165/6 owing to the late blitz of Hetmyer as he smashed 59 off 36 balls.

R Ashwin was batting on 28 off 23 balls and gave the opportunity to Riyan Parag to finish off the innings. The move worked out perfectly, as the RR posted a good total. Notably, this left the world of cricket stunned, and Hetmyer expressed the same feeling after their innings were over, saying he had no clue what happened at that point in time.
