Running out the non-striker is a gesture that has often been divided opinions in the world of cricket. And, one such incident took place in the U19 World Cup 2022 encounter between the Uganda U19 and the Papua New Guinea U19 sides. The incident took place in the 16th over of the PNG innings, when the non-striker John Kariko had come out of the crease too far at the non-striker’s end. And the bowler, Joseph Baguma made no mistake, and Kariko was declared out by the umpires.

And two cricketers, Yuvraj Singh and Tabraiz Shamsi had a difference of opinion on the matter as well. While Yuvraj Singh felt that the bowler indulged in a poor tactic, Shamsi felt that there was nothing wrong in what the bowler did and felt that the batter should have stayed inside the crease.
