Suryakumar Yadav, often known for his flamboyant strokeplay, showed his sentimental side during the post-match presentation of Match 63 in IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium. After guiding Mumbai Indians to a comprehensive 59-run win over Delhi Capitals, Surya dedicated his first Player of the Match award this season to his wife, Devisha Shetty, a professional dance coach and constant pillar of support in his life.

With rain beginning to fall just as the ceremony got underway, Suryakumar Kumar stood under an umbrella alongside presenter Harsha Bhogle. In a heartfelt moment, he revealed that Devisha had teased him earlier in the day, saying, “You’ve got all the awards except the POTM.” That light-hearted remark stayed with him. “This one’s for her,” he smiled. “She waits for these moments and we love celebrating them together.”

“It was important for someone to bat through till the end,” he said. “We believed there was one over worth 15–20 runs hidden somewhere, and we were prepared to wait for it. Naman’s energy and intent made a big difference.”
With this emphatic win, MI secured their spot in the playoffs for the 11th time in IPL history. Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah also played starring roles with the ball, picking up three wickets each and stifling the Capitals’ chase.
