Harmeet Singh emphasized that the USA team plans to remain competitive throughout the entire 20 overs. However, he also mentioned that the Monank Patel-led squad is prepared for a high-scoring contest if needed. Harmeet believes that early breakthroughs by their bowlers could put significant pressure on India, potentially paving the way for another remarkable victory.

“We have no specific expectations. The wicket in New York is playing unevenly, so I don’t foresee a very high-scoring game. When the game is low-scoring, we have a better chance of making a comeback. If we can take a couple of early wickets and perform well in the middle overs, we’ll stay competitive until the last ball. The pressure will always be on the stronger team playing against us. Our plan is to stay in the game for the full 20 overs,” Harmeet Singh explained ahead of the pivotal Group A match.

Should the USA manage to upset India, it would significantly boost their chances of qualifying for the Super 8. Harmeet highlighted that the USA team has been performing well recently, and their confidence is currently high. He pointed out that Pakistan had recently lost to England in a T20I series, and the USA was keen to capitalize on Pakistan’s vulnerability.

“We’ve been playing really well over the past few months, and our confidence is at an all-time high. We were aware that Pakistan had recently lost two series, and T20 is a format that thrives on momentum. When a team starts losing, they tend to continue losing and miss out on key moments in the game,” Harmeet Singh noted.
