Vijay Shankar replies to his inclusion in India’s World Cup squad

Vijay Shankar, the all-rounder has been selected for the upcoming World Cup which is scheduled to start from May. He has already performed pretty well in Australia and New Zealand. From belonging to a small town to selected in the World Cup- Vijay Shankar’s journey is worth inspiring. However, India is still searching for the player who can fit for the no. 4 spot. The things didn’t go well with the all-rounder Hardik Pandya and the opening batsman KL Rahul as they were suspended for a controversial comment on the chat show, named ‘Koffee With Karan’. Because of this, Vijay Shankar was called up for the series.

Today the chief selector MSK Prasad announced the 15-member squad for the World Cup where Vijay Shankar was also included. However, he has thanked the selectors as well.

“It feels really good to be a part of Indian Cricket team. This is my first call-up for the World Cup. It’s like a dream come true and very special for me. Now, I’m just looking forward to giving my best in the big tournament,” he said.

Moreover, MSK Prasad has shared his thought behind Vijay Shankar’s selection. He has already showcased his talent with the bat and ball. Even, he is a great fielder as well. he can be used in all the three departments – batting, bowling and fielding. India team will leave in the middle of May as the mega event will start at the end of May.
