The ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the most complete batsman world cricket has ever seen and his career, characterized by persistence and consistency, has left numerous moments for the cricketing world to cherish for a lifetime. It will not be an overstatement to say no other cricketer has exceeded divisiveness as much as the Mumbai-born master craftsman did with his sturdy bat.
Ever since Sachin made his debut, he was often been followed by the paparazzi and it continues the same way even after his retirement from all forms of cricket. Having that been said, the 44-year old was not alone when he met Mr. Limelight, Vinod Kambli for the first time.
It was on February 24, 1988, when two young boys with a never-ending hunger for runs struck a 664-run partnership playing for Shardashram Vidya Mandir against St. Xavier’s in Harris Shield. The world of cricket, ever since then, knows who the boys are – Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli.

Both Sachin and Kambli have often been showcasing a beautiful camaraderie they share with each other since their childhood. From playing for the same school to eventually playing for the same country, the two Mumbaikars grew from strength to strength. Though the southpaw was once considered as good a player as his right-handed friend was, he couldn’t serve the game long as his career could only feature 17 tests and 104 ODIs.
Irrespective of how each other’s personal lives unfolded, Sachin and Vinod were always able to put rivals aside and continued to be good friends. A beautiful testament to the 30-year long friendship happened in the form of a picture posted by Kambli himself on his Instagram handle.
In his Instagram story, Kambli uploaded a picture of his or his ‘sleeve tattoo’ to be specific. The tattoo is strikingly impressive and more so because a part of it is a 6-letter word that reads, you have guessed it right, ‘Sachin’. Mr. Limelight also went ahead and asked, ‘How lit is this?’ on top of the picture.
The picture only demonstrates the fondness the southpaw is of his dear friend and there isn’t an iota of doubt that the legendary Sachin reciprocates the love to his very special companion.
