After a thrilling IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday, Virat Kohli and Kevin Pietersen shared a heartfelt moment. RCB continued their strong run in the season, securing a six-wicket victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, maintaining their unbeaten away record. Kohli played a crucial role with the bat, scoring another half-century to guide his team to victory.

Following the match, Kohli caught up with DC’s mentor, Pietersen, and the two shared a warm hug. Pietersen posted a photo of their brief meet-up on X (formerly Twitter), simply captioning it with a red heart emoji. The duo’s bond dates back to their time together at RCB, and their camaraderie has often been a subject of interest among fans.

Their relationship was further highlighted during England’s tour of India earlier this year, when the pair were seen together ahead of the Champions Trophy. Speculation about their conversation, especially regarding Kohli’s potential interest in real estate in London, quickly circulated, but Pietersen dismissed these assumptions with a light-hearted comment. “Never ever assume things,” he said, emphasising the importance of not jumping to conclusions.

Reflecting on DC’s season so far, Pietersen expressed optimism, saying that the team had yet to play their perfect match. “We haven’t hit our straps in all departments, but I believe that perfect match is coming,” he added.
With three losses in their last five matches, DC will look to bounce back when they face Kolkata Knight Riders next.
