Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) flamboyant batter Virat Kohli showered praises on Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Suryakumar Yadav, following his blazing century against Gujarat Titans (GT). Notably, Suryakumar played a fiery knock of 103 off 49 and it helped Mumbai clinch the two points at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, May 12.

With his century, Suryakumar Yadav grabbed the limelight and earned massive praise from fans and members of the cricketing fraternity. Kohli, who shares a close rapport with the MI batter, once again took to his social media handle and enthusiastically lavished praise on the latter, courtesy of his mind-blowing innings. “Tula Maanla Bhau (hats off to you brother),” captioned Kohli on his Instagram story using the salute emoticon.

Iconic Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was in awe of the Mumbai batter’s exploits after his sensational innings. Mumbai Indians made a blistering start to the match, thanks to skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan’s explosive opening partnership. However, three wickets in quick succession saw the visitors make a comeback of sorts in the contest. But Gujarat Titans’ bowlers were rendered powerless against a menacing Suryakumar Yadav, who stitched a match-winning partnership with Vishnu Vinod.

Despite Vinod’s departure, Suryakumar continued with his fiery knock and completed his maiden IPL ton by smashing a six off the final ball of the first innings. The no.1 ranked T20I batter put on a show of fearless batting, dispatching the bowlers to unusual corners as he does most often. Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh reckoned the Indian star was batting on a different planet, leaving the bowlers at his mercy.

The 2011 World Cup-winning all-rounder also praised Afghan spinner Rashid Khan for a brilliant bowling spell, which kept the Mumbai batters in check during Suryakumar Yadav’s carnage. Rashid also played swashbuckling innings with the bat during GT’s chase, smashing 79 runs off just 32 balls, only to end on the losing side as he did not receive any support from the other end.
