Virat Kohli has never been one to hold back when it comes to expressing his passion for the game, and when asked about the most intense rivalry in the IPL, he didn’t hesitate to highlight the electrifying encounters between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But for Kohli, it’s not just about on-field competition—it’s about the energy in the stands, especially when CSK visits Bengaluru.

Speaking in a recent interview with broadcasters, Kohli painted a vivid picture of what it feels like to face CSK at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
“CSK games in Bengaluru have always had a different kind of tension. You see yellow jerseys everywhere—even at our home. Their fans travel in huge numbers and book tickets early. They take up a whole section. It’s like an away game at home,” Virat Kohli said, acknowledging the passion of CSK’s loyal supporters.

The star batter added, “It’s always a charged-up atmosphere. Our rivalry with CSK brings out the best in both teams. I’ve always found those games to be the most exciting environments to play in during the IPL.”

Earlier this season, RCB finally broke a 16-year drought in Chennai by defeating CSK at Chepauk—thanks to a masterful performance from Rajat Patidar. That win gave RCB much-needed belief as they gear up for the reverse fixture in Bengaluru on May 3.
Last year’s clash between these two giants at Chinnaswamy was equally dramatic, with RCB knocking CSK out of the playoffs in a nail-biting finish that saw MS Dhoni fall just short of pulling off another miracle.

As the 2025 season heats up, RCB are preparing to take on the unbeaten Delhi Capitals at home on April 10. After a tough start at Chinnaswamy against the Gujarat Titans, RCB bounced back in style with a memorable win over the Mumbai Indians. With momentum building and CSK on the horizon, expect the atmosphere in Bengaluru to be nothing short of electric.
