When players witness a rough patch in their careers, teammates often step up to help the players improve and get back into their groove. India’s vice-captain KL Rahul is having a miserable World Cup in Australia, and Virat Kohli took the onus of helping him out at a net session ahead of the Bangladesh fixture.
While coming out to open the innings, KL Rahul is yet to surpass the 10-run mark for India in three games the men in blue have played so far in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. The 30-year-old could only manage scores of 9, 9, and 4, but will be keen to get back to his usual best when India will be locking horns with Bangladesh in Adelaide on October 2.

The batter looks determined to make a big against the Tigers to inspire his side to victory and has thus been putting in the hard yards at the nets. During one such session, Virat Kohli was recorded keenly observing his teammate’s batting technique alongside Rahul Dravid and the rest of the coaching staff.
Dissatisfied with the batting approach of KL Rahul, Kohli advised the former to change his stance so that he could play the pull shots with more elevation. Rahul seemed to eagerly heed the advice before continuing his net session.

In the game against South Africa, Dinesh Karthik was seen walking off the field with a suspected lower-back injury. He batted in Adelaide’s indoor nets on the eve of the match and was also put through a ‘keeping drill. India’s head coach Dravid said a call on him would be taken based on how he pulls up on the morning of the match. If not fully fit, India will be replacing him with Rishabh Pant.

India also made the tactical move of including Deepak Hooda ahead of Axar Patel, a batting all-rounder for a bowling all-rounder in bowler-friendly conditions. They might will be expected to continue with the right-hander as the Bangladesh team will play with four lefties in their top six.
