The Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a clinical performance to defeat the Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets in Match 28 of IPL 2025, held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. On a batting-friendly surface, RCB first did well to restrict the hosts to 173/4, thanks to disciplined bowling and smart field placements.

What followed was a composed and dominant chase, spearheaded by none other than Virat Kohli. Kohli was in his element, playing the anchor role to perfection and remaining unbeaten on 62 off 45 deliveries. His knock, laced with four elegant boundaries and two towering sixes, showcased his mastery in run-chases once again.
It also marked a significant personal milestone—his 100th T20 half-century—making him the only Asian batter to achieve this feat. He now sits second on the global list behind David Warner, who has 108 fifties to his name.

During the chase, however, there was a brief moment of concern when Virat Kohli appeared to be in discomfort after running a sharp two. In a light-hearted moment, he even asked RR skipper Sanju Samson to check his pulse—an incident that quickly went viral. While some fans jokingly pointed to his age, Kohli’s fitness and match awareness remained as sharp as ever.

Kohli also further solidified his legacy as the IPL’s all-time top scorer, with 8252 runs and eight centuries under his belt. He initially allowed Phil Salt to dominate during the powerplay, then took control after Salt’s dismissal, guiding RCB to victory with 15 balls remaining.
