Virat Kohli Finally Meets Harry Kane, Abhishek Bachchan Pokes Fun

Tottenham Hotspurs’ captain, Harry Kane, and the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli have been in touch with each other on Twitter. The two players usually send congratulatory messages on Twitter after a good performance and match results.

On Friday, Kane met Kohli at the Lord’s Cricket Ground ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup, which gets underway in England and Wales on May 30. Virat and Harry revived their social media friendship with a meeting at the Lord’s cricket ground on Friday. Both have shown admiration for each other quite often in the micro-blogging site.

Hence when both of them finally met, Harry took on to Twitter to share their selfie. He also tweeted, “After a few tweets in the last couple of years good to finally meet @imVkohli. A great guy and a brilliant sportsman.”

Kohli also acknowledged the same as he wished him all the best for the Champions League final against Liverpool. The Indian skipper tweeted, “It was a pleasure meeting you @HKane and all the best for the finals.” 

Their conversations on Twitter began when Harry showered praises on Virat for his spectacular knock against Australia, back during the WT20 in 2016. The footballer commended the Indian batsman as he led the Men in Blue to victory in a must-win game for both the teams.

Later on, Kohli too sent his best wishes to the footballer ahead of England’s campaign in the FIFA World Cup last year. 

Though sports fans went into a frenzy after the tweet of Harry, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan saw the opportunity to take a slight dig at Kohli. He tweeted some emojis long with Virat holding a jersey of Chelsea which was designed for him.

Kohli and Abhishek are co-owners of FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC respectively, in the Indian Super League.

Another fan posted a picture of Kohli and Southampton striker Danny Ings holding a Saints jersey which was tweeted in September last year by the club’s official handle.

Kohli will hope to lead India to a third World Cup win while Spurs’ talisman Kane will be hoping to be fit to lead Spurs in the Champions League final on June 2 against Liverpool.

India will be commencing their World Cup campaign with a warm-up game against New Zealand at the Kennington Oval on Saturday.
