India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli has stormed back into the top five of the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, reaffirming his dominance in the format. His match-winning century—his 51st in ODIs—against Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has propelled him one spot higher, securing the fifth position. Kohli’s brilliance under pressure not only ensured India’s commanding win over their arch-rivals in Dubai but also highlighted his ability to deliver on the grandest stage.

With Kohli’s rise, India now boasts three batters inside the top five. Young sensation Shubman Gill continues to reign at No. 1, further extending his lead to 47 rating points over Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who remains second despite struggling for form in the tournament.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma holds firm at third, solidifying India’s batting dominance in the rankings. Beyond Virat Kohli’s resurgence, several other players have made notable gains in the rankings. New Zealand’s Will Young jumped eight places to 14th, while England’s Ben Duckett made a massive leap of 27 spots to reach joint 17th after his impressive performances.
