Indian skipper Virat Kohli will not be endorsing any soft drinks in the future as recently he refused to promote a soft-drink brand. Kohli himself revealed that he doesn’t consume soft drinks so endorsing a product was out of the question.
According to the reports of The Hindu, Virat said that endorsing soft drinks was out o
f the question as he did not personally drink it due to fitness concerns. He once said, “I first convince myself I can do it and only then ask my teammates to go for it.”
Indian badminton legend Pullela Gopichand once done the same thing when he received a mega-offer to endorse cold drinks a decade ago, but he too refused. Gopichand told The Hindu, “I was into yoga, meditation, and a strict diet. I had taken a vow not to have any soft drink, and when I won the All-England title [in 2001], I had this big offer. Since I was not taking (sic) any soft drinks, I did not wish to be seen as encouraging others to drink just because I was getting a huge amount for it.”
