The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli recently shared some throwback pictures on his Instagram account. In the post, Virat shared a couple of pictures, in the first one, he can be seen with AB de Villiers while batting. In the second picture, Kohli can be seen celebrating a dismissal with his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammates.
Captioning the pictures with a clock and an hourglass emoji, Kohli wrote that he is counting the days for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to start. He will also be hoping to lead his team to their maiden IPL title this year.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought Virat Kohli in 2008 for a sum of ₹12 lakhs. Since then, he has emerged as one of the most crucial members of the RCB team and has so far played 177 matches in the IPL and scored 5,412 runs with an average of 37.84 and a strike rate of 131.61.

In his IPL career, Kohli has amassed as many as 5 centuries in the cash-rich league along with 36 half-centuries. However, under Virat Kohli’s leadership, RCB has never managed to lift the coveted IPL title. The last time they came close to winning the IPL trophy was back in 2016.
Virat Kohli and his RCB teammates to reach the finals of the 2016 edition of the tournament but they suffered a close loss to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final.

With this year’s IPL scheduled to be taking place in the UAE from September 19 to November 10, RCB will be hoping to get their hands on the title. Earlier, the cash-rich league was supposed to begin from March 29 but had got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
