During the ongoing practice match between Cricket Australia XI and India, the Indian bowlers were seen struggling to get wickets on Friday but the Indian skipper Virat Kohli thoroughly enjoyed his time with bat and ball. The Indian skipper, on third day’s play, bowled two overs when other bowlers failed to make an impact. Same was the case on Saturday as he again ran in to bowl his medium pace deliveries. He even got the crucial wicket of Harry Nielsen, who scored a century as well.

Nielsen tried to loft Kohli over on-side but ended up giving a simple catch to Umesh Yadav at mid-on as the bowl went much higher than expected. Kohli was elated to take the wicket and celebrated the moment with a big smile on his face. Here is the video of the wicket:

If one rolls back time, the wicket of Johnson Charles remains to Kohli’s last wicket in international cricket. During the same match, he also bowled the final over of the match when West Indies needed eight runs to win the match. Kohli’s wicket of Nielsen will not be counted anywhere as this is not a first-class match.

Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers finally managed to dismiss Cricket Australia XI on a score of 544, which ended up with a lead of 186 runs. Indian bowlers failed to build pressure on the home batsmen and their form is a worry for the visitors going into the first Test that starts next week in Adelaide.

Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets in his account but he leaked runs with an economy rate of 4.04. R Ashwin scalped two wickets whereas Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah picked up a wicket apiece. Even the Indian openers had a decent start as they made 100+ runs for the first wicket.
